Day 9. Beer 2 – Moongazer Ale – Dewhopper

Our Saturday evening sponsor is also one of our brewer: Moongazer Ale. Moongazer are good enough to sponsor our staff shirts, as well as supply beer for us. David and Rachel Holliday have been brewing in Hindringham since 2012 and have built up a great reputation, winning many awards for their ales and lagers. They have a strong passion for local malt, making all their beers using local Maris Otter barley malt, and enabling them to make consistently good beer.

Take a look at the video of a day in the brewery.

They supply their beer in many pubs right across Norfolk so you probably won’t be far from a pint. Here are a few local ones: Kings Head Holt, Fflokes Arms Hillington, Kings Head Letheringsett, Carpenters Wighton and Horseshoes Warham. You can also book to make an appointment to collect beer from the brewery on a Friday. Bottles are also available from Beers Of Europe, Walsingham Farm Shop, The Giddy Goat and some Co-op stores.

The beer we are featuring is Dewhopper, a 4.0% lager. Tasty gluten-free Norfolk lager, light gold colour with a crisp, hoppy finish. A malty backbone, with citrussy resinous flavours with a dry finish. This was the festivals first venture into lager, back in 2018, and proved to be extremely popular, so it will be back. Special thanks to one of Moongazers stockists, Binham Chequers , who have always helped is with the lager serving kit at the festival. Cheers.
